While living in Texas I worked for a variety of media outlets. I wrote most extensively for the Texas Observer Blog during the 2007 legislative session. I contributed multiple articles with photos to the Washington Post while working in a research role for its Austin bureau (since closed) in 2006 and 2007. Prior to that, I was the education beat reporter for the Temple Daily Telegram, where I received an Associated Press Managing Editors award for coverage of a Marine's funeral.
