Obama Through the Signs

Some links from this past week:

1. This essay by Andrew Olmstead, published at Obsidian Wings posthumously after his death in Iraq, is pretty remarkable.

2. I’ve been interning once a week at the Rayko Photo Center since late November. When I got back from Germany I had a new boss named Audrey, and it was only this week that we both figured out we have Flickr accounts. Turns out she has some of the strangest photos I’ve seen online, but in a good way. Check those links out.

3. My friend and former Observer colleague Patrick Michels has a real nice post and photo up on the Observer blog that captures Obama’s connection with Austin.

4. Last week Matthew Yglesias linked to my ‘Obama the Cowboy’ photo, and from there it kind of took off around the internets. A list of places it’s appeared just since Super Tuesday:

Radar Online

Alex Balk

‘Viva Obama!’ (at about the 1:33 mark)

Nerve.com

It was also linked on quite a few message boards, including MetaFilter, but my favorite was Buffistas.org, a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fansite.
